My name is Doug Llewellyn. At this writing, I’m 73 years old. My wife, Wendy, and I have 11 children in total. From our first marriages, I had 4 children and Wendy had 4 children. After we married, we had 3 children together. One of our children passed away at just a week old, and Wendy also lost her oldest child at age 23 to an impaired driver.
Wendy was born in Winnipeg in 1955, and I was born in Montague, PEI, in 1950. We first got together about 41 years ago. We met through our recovery from addiction, and about eight years after we met, we got married. It was the best move I ever made.
I come from a family of 8—4 girls and 4 boys. One of the girls, a twin, died at a young age. I grew up as the middle child, with all the usual ramifications that come with it. Trouble and I became close over the years. We were inseparable for many years; where you saw one, you would soon see the other.
